From separation to rescue.

Why Do I Need Jesus?

If this subject feels heavy, please remember the heart of the message: God did not leave us separated from Him. The reason the Bible explains sin and judgment is so we can understand the depth of God's rescue. Jesus came because God loves us and made a way for us to be brought back to Him.

You are being invited, not forced. Jesus offers to save you, but He does not force you to believe.

The Bible's answer is not that you need to become religious enough or perfect enough. It is that none of us can repair our separation from God by ourselves.

Sin Creates a Separation We Cannot Fix Ourselves

God is holy. The Bible teaches that all of us have sinned and fallen short of His glory. It does not take breaking every commandment. Even one sin means we need forgiveness, and in real life all of us fail many times.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” — Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Good works, church attendance, money, promises, or trying harder cannot erase what has already happened.

The Wages of Sin Is Death

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 (KJV)

A wage is what is earned or owed. The Bible says sin has a real consequence: death. Revelation calls the final judgment in the lake of fire “the second death.”

“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” — Revelation 20:14 (KJV)

Jesus Took Our Place

God did not leave people without a way back to Him. Jesus Christ lived without sin and willingly gave His life for us. He took the penalty we could not pay, died on the cross, and rose again.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8 (KJV)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son...” — John 3:16 (KJV)

That is why we need Jesus. Through Him, God offers forgiveness, peace with God, and life with God forever as a gift.

Common Questions

You may be wondering about one of these questions. Here are short answers to help you keep going.

Why do I need Jesus?

We all sin and cannot make ourselves perfect. Jesus took our place on the cross and rose again so we can be forgiven and brought back to God.

Can I get to God just by being a good person?

The Bible teaches that salvation is a gift through Jesus, not a reward we earn by doing enough good things.

What did Jesus save us from?

Jesus offers forgiveness from sin, brings us back into a relationship with God, and gives the hope of eternal life.

You Do Not Have to Become Perfect First

Come to Jesus honestly. Tell Him the truth about your life. Trust what He did for you. Being Saved is not a reward for people who managed to become good enough. It is God's gift to people who know they need Him.
